Mariamman Silver Kavacham

The Goddess with four hands is seated on a fully designed peedam, which has lotus flower engraved at the bottom and is finely worked with twigs and floral motifs all over. The left leg is folded towards the right thigh and the right leg is suspended towards the ground and placed on a lotus. The Goddess holds a noose in the rear left hand and an udukkai with a snake coiled in the rear right hand. There is a sword in the front right hand and a bowl in the left hand. The kreedam with flames of fire has a red stone fixed in center and two red stones to the karnapatram. Behind the kreedam is a five-headed serpent with red stones fixed to the eyes of the serpent and there are red stones tied to the mouths of the serpent. The Goddess is adorned with ornaments and jewels all over her body. The vastram of the goddess is beautifully spread on the peedam. This silver kavacham for Mariamman is very delicately crafted by the hands of Karuppaiah Acharyar.
